Our Mission

Nowadays, it seems churches are quick to come up with new catchy and compelling ‘Mission Statements’ in an attempt to stand out from the crowd and get the attention of seekers. But the mission of the church was already established 2000 years ago by Jesus Himself when He said: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20) We think thats pretty good and we have no desire to come up with something different. So our mission, based off Jesus’ words, is simple: Engage, Invest and Multiply.

Engage

Jesus commands the church to ‘go’. He tells us to go into all nations with the message of the Gospel, to go and engage all people with this life changing message. Therefore, we at The Forge Church are on mission to engage people right where they are at, not asking them to clean up first, not asking them to come to a Sunday service first and not asking them to become moral first. Rather we desire to engage people with the real message of Jesus right where they are at - no matter how uncomfortable it might be. Our love for Jesus and people compels us to engage.

Invest

While the church is called to go and engage people with the message of the Gospel in the hopes of seeing them won to Jesus, that's not the end. Rather Jesus tells us we are to go and make disciples, this means we care about peoples spiritual growth! We don’t exist to entertain people with a good ‘show’ on Sunday mornings or to fill their week with fun programs, rather we exist to make disciples of Jesus. But this isn’t easy, disciples are a result of one person intentionally investing in another. This is an investment of our time, energy and effort but we believe people are worth investing in.

Multiply

Jesus ends by telling us to teach them to obey everything He has commanded. the Great Commission is all about making disciples that means we must teach others to follow suit. So, we engage the lost to see them won to Jesus and converted, we then invest in the converted to see them become a disciple, and then we teach them to obey the full council of God and go into all nations and make disciples – this is multiplication.

Our Beliefs

“Our Statements of Faith are based around the New Hampshire Confession of 1853. In some instances, they are word for word. In others they have been modified for the purpose of clearer understanding or to reflect our understanding of the order of salvation. Some, however, have been necessarily added or amended for clarification due to changes in our cultural beliefs and behaviors over time. All are rooted in God’s Word, the Bible.”
